UNIFORM ACT FOR EXTRADITION OF CRIMINALS |
| |
Idaho has adopted a uniform statute which governs the
extradition of criminal defendants between states. Most other states in
the country have adopted the identical uniform statutes to bring
consistency to the handling of extradition matters. Idaho's provisions
on extradition are
found in the Uniform
Rendition
Of Accused Persons Act found at Idaho Code 19-4501 through 19-4534.

EXTRADITIONS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES |
| |
There are occasions when criminal defendants flee to
neighboring countries. In such cases, the extradition will be dependant
upon the
extradition laws of the country where the criminal defendant is
located. The county prosecuting attorney works with the United States
Department
of Justice on such matters.
